Marta Beckett is an exceptional woman truly driven by her artistic compulsions. The Amergosa Opera House in Death Valley Junction is a historic piece of history that Marta has made her own.
With her calm and steady voice and her piercing gaze she holds court in her creation. I applaud this woman.
This motel is notoriously haunted and one of the coolest old motels I’ve ever been in. Marta has her murals randomly placed throughout. Where else do they leave out gloriously decorated sanitary napkin disposal bags from the 50’s? It inspired me to start collecting them. This is not as easy as it sounds.
