The desert has always held such a lure for me. The historic Route 66 is so much fun.

It’s usually around here in March or April that I can catch up with the Carson & Barnes Circus. A 4th generation traveling circus up from South America. The circus life is a difficult one and I’ve met some very hard working people. They are out pounding tent poles at 8am and swinging from the trapeze for the 5 o’clock show in 104 temperatures.

I’m amazed that there always seems to be some desert dweller that has blossomed out there. Someone’s yard with a tree covered in glass bottles or shoes.

An old junkie from Barstow, CA. with a wealth of stories about the train industry.

A homeless woman with no shoes crying in Kingman, AZ. for the job she was just offered at the local thrift store. This is just some of the beauty I feel and absorb on my trips.
